read. Recommendations

& Excise for VAT return.

Motion: LVHMC are to
supply clerk with all
invoices to date & grant
to be paid. Proposed by

was added that copies of
all outstanding invoices
are to be received by
LPC by 31st December
2008.

discuss necessary budget
for 2009/10 and report

Residents are to beware
of bogus callers
offering small contract
jobs and driveway work.

Elham
Speedwatch has found
monitoring between 5-6pm
to be beneficial.
Council should write to
police again requesting
confirmation of
continued support.

There
has been a theft of
money from resident's
house. All residents to
be alert.

Report
on Dog Fouling. The
supply of bags and bins
for use by dog owners is
not recommended as
maintenance of the
schemes is problematic.
Shepway DC
(Environmental Control)
are proposing an intense
limited poster scheme as
these are thought to
have more impact. A
request should be made
for the scheme to be
used in Lyminge and
Etchinghill.

Both The
Elham Valley 11-14yr
Boys and girls football
teams won the Shepway
Tournament and the Girls
team were successful in
being runners-up in the
Kent Finals. Well done
to both teams!

Age
Concern: Cllr M
Chubb attended a meeting
of Chief Officers and
Trustees at Aylesford
Priory. AC had a
fundraising table in the
hall during the Garage
Safari. The Quiz Night
was a successful event.
Permission has been
gained to have a public
collection in Folkestone
on 25th October. Next
Trustees meeting is
20.10.08.

Footpaths: Cllr R.
Chubb led the Parish
Walk on 20th September
with 10 walkers along a
Postling and Tolsford
route. 1 broken style
was noted for repair.
Next walk is 19.10.08
leaving Lyminge car park
at 10am.

Lyminge VHMC: No
meeting to report. The
Quiz Night was
successful. Tea & Coffee
was provided during the
garage safari. The
Murder Mystery evening
has low numbers for
bookings at present and
may be postponed

ERA &
Etchinghill VHMC:
All are delighted with
Village Hall sign and
are grateful to LPC for
support. The hall has
been repainted. The
'Open House' events have
been interesting with a
variety of talks. After
promising proposed work
schedules from Kent
Highways earlier in the
year, there remains a
lack of speed limitation
signs in Etchinghill.
Correspondence will be
forwarded to the new
Customer Support
Officer.

Lyminge Youth Action:
The AGM will be held
on Monday 10th November
in the Methodist Hall at
7pm. A revised
Constitution and Child
Protection Policy are
being worked on.

Tree
Wardens: The Wardens
have attended a survey
course and will attend a
course on hazardous
trees. Elham Gardening
Society will be donating
a replacement tree for
Lyminge Car Park. Some
of the necessary tree
surgery on Tayne field
is on the KCC side of
the land. LPC will carry
out the work and request
reimbursement. A tree
behind the library is
suffering a leaf mite
infestation. The tree
should survive the
attack and therefore no
action will be taken at
present.

Lyminge Primary School:
Next meeting 30th
September.

Parochial Church
Council: Notices
have been posted
regarding the planned
repairs. The PCC are
reviewing the services
on offer to attract
younger families. The St
Nicholas Fayre will be
held on 6th December. A
Choir Concert will be
held on Saturday 25th
October and there will
be a treasure hunt on
Sunday 12th October.
