Notices & Reports

Etchinghill Neighbourhood Watch
Our Community Warden says, and has proof, that this is really working, but we need a few more volunteers to be points of contact to comprehensively cover Etchinghill.
If you would be prepared to participate… and its not onerous and could prevent a crime… or equally if you would like further information or be part of the wider network to ensure you are informed of any issues.. please contact Judith Lansdell on 862498.
You are assured of total confidentiality… and as a “bonus”, some Home Insurers extend discounts to members.

Lyminge Handbell Ringers
The Lyminge Handbell Ringers are now back in action after a busy spring rehearsal programme. So if you need charming traditional music for a special local occasion, played on refurbished handbells, please contact us. We now have a larger repertoire than ever before, including music written in the 16th Century and earlier, previously not played on handbells. Weekends and evenings only please and with as much notice as possible. All we need is a large table and a minimum donation of £35, which goes to The Pilgrims Hospice. Call Ro Edmond on 863201 or Stuart Hunnisett on 862530. Alternatively you can e-mail me at stuart@hunnisetts.freeserve.co.uk

Congratulations to everyone at the
Farthing Common Plant Centre

for scooping a double gold at the Kent County Show. Not only did their magnificent display win a gold, but it also won Best in Show. This is a testament to all their hard work and dedication over the past six months or so in the design and the plant gathering. The plants were all of exceptional quality.
Very well done! Chelsea next year?

ETCHINGHILL W.I.
Our very friendly meetings are well supported. Visitors (even if only here on holiday) are warmly welcomed. Our longest serving member, Mrs Audrey Kirk, was presented with a bouquet on the occasion of her 96th birthday by our President. The coffee morning held at the home of Dottie Cross was a great success and how fortunate we were to have such a hot sunny day. Three members went to a Malaysian meeting and lunch at Chilham. It was very interesting and enjoyable. The meeting on 17th August will be the Garden Party when we will be entertained by Ron Kenney who plays the keyboard, so we will be able to have a ‘jolly sing song’

The Garden Safari next year
For the first time this will be combined with a Scarecrow competition. More details in forthcoming Newsletters, but if readers are intrigued, they may like to enter "scarecrows" into the search engine of the internet and see what comes up!

Etchinghill Residents Association
A successful ‘Safety Surgery’ was held recently with many folk calling in & a lot of support from those who took part. One of the many ‘messages’ that arose was that we need to hold a Safety Surgery more frequently. With a view to this, another meeting is planned for the Autumn when we hope to arrange separate specific times for the youth in the village & the adults. Ian Norman, Community Warden and his colleague, Trevor Moody, Hawkinge Project Officer, have agreed to become part of the Residents Committee and are quite happy to meet confidentially with anyone who wants to voice their concerns over any matter. Ian and Trevor stressed the need for a Neighbourhood Watch representative in Etchinghill. It really works as many problems can be nipped in the bud.
The Etchinghill Web site is continuing and our sponsor, Red Dragon Web Design are working on a first draft, so watch this space. For any queries on any of the above please contact:- Wendy Preston – 863495 or e-mail les@stourbrook.freeserve.co.uk  David Coombs – 863918 or e-mail david@langton12.fsnet.co.uk

We treat holistically, that means we don't just treat the
symptoms but the "whole* person,; which consists of the
Physical being, the emotional being and the spiritual being.
Because we believe that all parts are linked to the whole in
order to heal one part, others have to be balanced and
treated also. All our practitioners have many years of
experienced work in this field and are fully qualified and
insured with professionally recognised bodies.
